Horizontal Organization / Self-Directed Work Teams
The goal is to redesign a company's business processes to achieve breakthroughs in such critical measures of performance as quality, cost, service, and speed. This is accomplished by developing self-directed business teams, built around core processes/product lines, with specific performance goals. GDS provides assistance in the development of the new company vision, training of the horizontal teams, creating new performance management measures; new compensation incentives, new organization protocols, and restructuring the business processes themselves.
This type of intervention can work at any organization level. We have focused on creating high performing teams at the wage level, brand teams to accelerate classical marketing initiatives, and sales teams to support team selling/key account objectives.
