Consultant Biographies JOSEPH L. WIONS
His corporate experience included Merck and Co., Inc., where he was a program manager of management development and a management resources consultant. In these roles, he assisted middle- and senior-level managers throughout the Merck organization through: coaching to effectively manage change, handle difficult relationships, and motivate employees; facilitating team effectiveness; mediating interpersonal conflicts; and designing and delivering a wide variety of management and leadership training. Joe also had primary responsibility for tailoring services such as these to the specific needs of Merck's research organization. Prior to joining Merck, Joe was manager, employee development for American Hoechst Corporation. In this capacity, he had corporate-wide responsibilities for the development, delivery, and coordination of management training; development of a middle-manager curriculum; and implementation support for the organization's performance appraisal and employee development system. He also consulted to the various divisions of AHC on matters of establishing training needs, quality and productivity improvement efforts, and the development and facilitation of problem-solving teams. He began his corporate career with Johnson & Johnson, as a senior training administrator at Ortho Diagnostic Systems, Inc. There, he designed and delivered a wide variety of management and employee training, coached executives, and facilitated team-building efforts. Joe has consulted with numerous fortune 500 corporations and non-profit organizations in the United States and internationally. He has spoken at numerous professional meetings on such topics as team building, performance management, development of management curricula, and earning management support. He demonstrates exceptional talent in the areas of comprehending client needs, overcoming resistance and hostility, handling sensitive interpersonal issues, engaging an audience, facilitating group process, and providing client support. |
