ANDREW LONGMAN

ANDREW LONGMAN

Andrew Longman is an associate senior consultant with Guttman Development Strategies, Inc. who has more than 20 years of consulting experience in the areas of strategic planning, organizational change, project management, operational improvement, executive coaching, and management training and development. Andrew's focus includes team building; process consultation; group dynamics and facilitation; and customized training-program design, implementation, and evaluation. Among the companies where he has delivered major organizational change programs are Lockheed Martin, Schering Plough, American Honda, DaimlerChrysler, Kimberly-Clark, State Farm, and Lehman Brothers.

Andrew's engagements have focused on the design, development, and delivery of management and organization development solutions for greater operational effectiveness and efficiency. He specializes in effecting behavior change through individual and team-based coaching and training as well as process improvement and performance system alignment. These solutions have improved functional and cross- functional operations ranging from marketing, product development, engineering, and manufacturing to customer care, maintenance, and management information systems.

Previously, Andrew was vice president of marketing and a partner in the management consulting firm of Kepner-Tregoe, Inc., where he led an effort to reposition and rebrand the company. He also served as the firm's director of product development, developing and launching instructor-led, Web-based, and electronic performance support products used by over 20,000 learners annually. He is a master trainer in several programs ranging from strategic and operational decision making, to root cause analysis, to project management, to leadership.

Andrew holds B.S. in psychology and philosophy from Northern Michigan University and has been certified as a project management professional by the Project Management Institute. He is co-author of The Rational Project Manager: The Thinking Team's Guide to Getting Work Done (John Wiley & Sons, 2005) and has contributed to the Journal of Business Strategy, Quality Progress, PM Network, and Leadership Excellence. He is a regular speaker on topics such as "Project Woes to Project Wows" and "Strategic Project Management."
