ROBERT E. DE SIMONE

Robert E. De Simone is an associate senior consultant with Guttman Development Strategies, Inc., whose professional expertise lies in the areas of high-performance management and organizational development. He has spent 19 years directing organizational and management development initiatives for individuals and a wide variety of Industries, businesses, and institutions.

Robert presently provides his expertise to both private- and public- sector organizations seeking to enhance their effectiveness. He specializes in high-performance executive coaching, transformational leadership, and change management to assist organizations in meeting their vision and strategic goals. He has trained senior-level executives and teams in visioning, goal setting, critical thinking, and decision making. He has designed and facilitated team development sessions to foster collaboration, conflict resolution, and strategic problem solving for functional and cross-functional teams. Robert is always attentive to the real-time constraints and opportunities that exist within the client's organization and tailors his coaching and training sessions accordingly.

Robert's current assignments and principal focus include aligning senior management teams, developing the strategy and implementation of "horizontal" organizations, and senior-level executive coaching and development.

Prior to joining GDS, Robert spent six years as vice president of corporate relations at Cendant Corporation. There, among other initiatives, he implemented a "Brown Bag" lecture series. Topics included "Practices for the Best of the Best," which targeted customer service, sales support, and accounts-receivable executives; "Leading the Leader"; and "Whose Company Is It, Anyway?"

Robert attended the United States Naval Academy and holds a bachelor of science degree, with a concentration in industrial psychology and organizational development, from Johns Hopkins University. He was recently inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame for having achieved NCAA All-American Honors for four straight years and was also a member of the 1978 U.S.A. World Lacrosse Team. Robert is presently responsible for developing the leadership curriculum for the Huntington Township Community Leadership Program, in Suffolk County, New York, in partnership with the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce.
